Adobe embeds the Arcot technology into Adobe Acrobat and Adobe Reader which enables a breakthrough in consumer authentication and digital signing giving Arcot technology ubiquity on the desktop. Arcot was the first authentication vendor to demonstrate integration with the Microsoft Windows CardSpace identity management framework. Arcot also integrates its authentication technology with Identity and Access Management solutions from CA, IBM, Oracle and Sun. Arcot and Visa invented the 3-D Secure protocol used in the Verified by Visa, MasterCard SecureCode and JCB J/Secure card authentication programs that authenticate users to prevent online shopping fraud.
Arcot is privately held and has received venture financing from Accel Partners, Adobe Ventures, Goldman Sachs, INVESCO Private Capital, Onset Ventures, Raza Ventures, Skandinaviska Enskilda Banken (SEB), Wachovia, and VISA International. The company has more than 100 employees worldwide.
