Ram Varadarajan, President and CEO
Ram Varadarajan co-founded Arcot Systems in 1997. He has more than 20 years of experience in leading security and mission critical computing endeavors and holds multiple patents for credit card authentication methodologies. Prior to founding Arcot, Ram was executive director, R&D at Informix Software where he was responsible for security and connectivity products. While there he closed the single largest Informix contract (over $30MM) from the US government. Ram also served as the R&D executive at ImagineCard, a smartcard initiative between Informix, Gemplus and Hewlett Packard. Early in his career, Ram was project manager for Distributed Security Systems at Odyssey Research. Ram holds an M.S. from Louisiana State University and a bachelor's degree (B.Tech) from the Indian Institute of Technology.
David Kaplan, Chief Financial Officer
David has over 25 years' management experience spanning early-stage enterprises to Fortune 500 companies. Prior to joining Arcot in 2007, David served as chief financial officer at Dragon Media Online, Inc. He previously held senior financial executive positions overseeing operations for Weathernews Inc. and Home Account Network, Inc., where he led the raising of institutional equity and debt financing and eventual successful sale of the company. David has actively served as a strategic advisor and board member for a number of high technology companies. He also spent nine years at PG&E Corporation overseeing corporate planning and finance and lobbying on regulatory matters in California. David holds Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Geophysics from Stanford University and an MBA from Harvard.
Jim Reno, Chief Technology Officer
Jim brings decades of engineering expertise and product development success to Arcot. Prior to joining Arcot in 1999 as vice president, product development and engineering, Jim was vice president and chief technologist at Vantive Corporation. He has also held senior development and management positions at Informix, SCO, and Olivetti. Jim is one of the inventors of the 3-D Secure protocol used in the Verified by Visa and MasterCard SecureCode programs and he holds multiple patents in the area of credit card verification and authentication. Jim holds a BS from MIT and also MSCS and MBA degrees from the University of Illinois.
Carol Stone Alexander, Vice President, Marketing
Carol joined the Arcot executive team in 2006. Her professional career spans 25 years of high-tech experience in marketing, product management and channel marketing. Prior to joining Arcot, Carol spent five years as vice president worldwide marketing with Check Point Software Technologies, Inc. She has also held VP marketing positions at Sendmail Inc., Amdahl Corporation, and Fujitsu. Carol has a BA in mathematics from Goucher College and did graduate work in computer science at Villanova University.
Keith Goldstein, Vice President, Worldwide Channel Development
Keith brings more than two decades of senior management and executive experience in sales, strategic alliances and OEM/partnership development to Arcot. Prior to joining the company in 2005, Keith was Sr. VP business development at BroadVision, and VP strategic alliances at TIBCO Software for five years where he established and rapidly expanded the OEM and Alliances program. Earlier, Keith was at SGI where he led the company's strategic partner organization and built relationships with the major enterprise software vendors. Keith began his career as a major account sales manager at NCR Corporation where, over the course of 12 years, he sold the UNIX-based solutions to the banking industry. Keith holds a BA with Honors in International Relations and Business Administration from the State University of New York at Albany.
R. 'Doc' Vaidhyanathan, Vice President, Product Management
Doc joined Arcot in 2000 as vice president, product management. Prior to Arcot, he was with Majesco Software where he was vice president of global outsourcing. Doc also held management and development positions at TDICI and Tata Unisys. He is a frequent speaker at security conferences and events. Based on his broad experience with customers and technologies, Doc is frequently quoted as industry expert on authentication. Doc serves on the Board of CRY America. He holds a bachelor's degree (B.Tech) in computer science from the Indian Institute of Technology and an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management.
Sanjay Vyas, Vice President, Worldwide Services
Sanjay has a wealth of experience in engineering, product delivery and customer support. Sanjay joined Arcot in 1999 as a QA and engineering manager and was then promoted to director of payment systems. Sanjay was instrumental in delivering Arcot's ePayment products to the market place and he led the delivery of Arcot TransFort product suite to thousands of 3-D Secure issuers and millions of cardholders worldwide. Sanjay was promoted to vice president in 2006. Prior to Arcot, Sanjay worked for vJungle. Sanjay holds a bachelor's degree (B. Tech) in Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, and an MBA from Haas School of Business, UC Berkeley.
Elis Nemes, President, Arcot International
Prior to joining Arcot in 2001, Elis was vice president for Europe, the Middle East and Africa for Novell. Previously, he was with Sun Microsystems where he was vice president for Northern and Eastern Europe, including CIS. Elis is a native of Finland and holds Masters of Science degrees in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics from Helsinki University.
Bill Moore, Vice President, Strategic Relations
Bill joined Arcot in 2001 as vice president, North American sales. Previously he was sales manager, financial services for QSP, Inc. Bill also held several positions with Visa, including executive vice president, emerging technologies; senior vice president, member relations; and east coast sales manager. Bill has also held positions with First Tennessee Bank and Central Fidelity Bank and served on the boards of Internet Regional Switch, the Retail Banking Committee of the Virginia Bankers Association, and Plus ATM Switch. He holds a B.S. from the University of South Carolina.
Raj Gopalakrishna, Vice President and Managing Director, Arcot India
Prior to joining Arcot in 2000 to build Arcot's R&D center in Bangalore and architect the Arcot products, Raj served as architect at Informix Software Inc. where his main responsibilities included architecting the Informix database server products. He conceived, designed, and built MaxConnect. Raj has extensive experience in database internals, enterprise applications, performance and scalability, high availability, benchmarking, communication systems, networking and operating systems. He holds numerous patents and has a B.S. in Computer Science.
Suril Desai, Vice President, Engineering
Suril brings a wealth of experience in enterprise class products, from product design/architecture to product release. Having joined Arcot in 2000, Suril was extensively involved in building Arcot's ePayments product suite. He relocated to India in 2003 where he was responsible for the delivery of Arcot TransFort suite. Since then, Suril has been instrumental in building and maintaining the fully operational Arcot India engineering center. He has worked closely with global customers and brings their needs and market knowledge gained to influence product design and implementation. Prior to Arcot, Suril worked at Scient where he built e-business applications for niche technology companies. Suril holds a MS in Computer Science from the University of Southern California and a MBA from the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore.

Taher Elgamal, CTO, Tumbleweed
Dr. Elagmal is a noted expert in security, electronic commerce, and
other Internet applications. He was previously founder of Securify,
chief scientist at Netscape Communications; director of engineering at
RSA Data Security; co-founder and vice president of technology at
InfoChip Systems; and scientist at Hewlett Packard Laboratories. Dr.
Elgamal holds a Ph.D. in public key cryptography from Stanford
University.
Martin Hellman, Professor Emeritus, Stanford University
Professor Hellman has been on the faculty at Stanford University since 1971. Dr. Hellman's invention of public key cryptography (jointly with Diffie and Merkle) has been widely covered in such media as Scientific American and Time magazine. Previously, Hellman was on the faculty at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and on the research staff at the IBM Watson Research Center. Dr. Hellman holds a B.S. from New York University and an M.S. and Ph.D. from Stanford University.
Bruce Schneier, Founder and Chief Technical Officer of BT Counterpane
Mr. Schneier is an internationally-renowned security technologist and author of eight books, including his book, Beyond Fear, which tackles the problems of security from personal safety, crime, corporate security, to national security; Secrets & Lies, which has sold 80,000 copies since 2002. One of his earlier books, Applied Cryptography, the seminal work in its field, has sold over 150,000 copies and has been translated into five languages. Designer of the popular Blowfish encryption algorithm, Mr. Schneier's Twofish was a finalist for the new Federal Advanced Encryption Standard (AES). Mr. Schneier holds an MS degree in computer science from American University and a BS degree in physics from the University of Rochester.
