Adobe has embedded Arcot's patented authentication technology into its Adobe Acrobat 8 and Adobe Reader 8. Arcot's patented ArcotID “Secure Software Credential” provides strong, two-factor authentication of the user and controls access to the digital ID verifying that only the authorized person is signing. The Arcot SignFort server securely stores the Digital ID and Acrobat or Adobe Reader access it directly. SignFort offers a more secure, streamlined process for signing and approving documents. It maintains legal enforceability, validates that the correct individual approved the document, and provides easy detection of unauthorized changes. This enables a new option for secure digital signing, anywhere, anytime, without the need for additional software or hardware. Arcot provides users of Acrobat and Adobe Reader the ability to sign PDF documents securely while enabling enterprises to maximize the value of their electronic business processes, eliminating the need to “print and sign”, and preventing fraud.
