First Data's services range from authentication and verification tools, which help detect and reduce identity theft, to neural network scoring and real-time fraud detection at the point-of-sale. First Data uses Arcot TransFort authenticaion solutions to cover all key participants in an electronic commerce transaction: the card issuers, online merchants, merchant aggregators, and consumers. First Data Merchant Services provide Arcot's TransFort for Merchants solution, the most widely adopted solution for payment authentication, to online merchants. With the Arcot TransFort for Merchants product, the merchant is able to authenticate and verify the cardholder at the time of purchase. For issuers, TransFort verifies the identity of the payer during the checkout process and reduces the incidence of fraudulent and disputed online payments and their associated costs. The solution relieves one of the greatest consumer concerns — security — without slowing down the transaction or reducing the efficiency of the interaction, and while simultaneously offering issuers the opportunity to enhance and personalize each transaction.
