Arcot Systems Joins Google Enterprise Professional Program, Introduces On-Demand Strong Authentication for Google Apps Premier Edition
Sunnyvale, California -- March 13, 2008 — Arcot Systems, the leader in software-only authentication, today announced it has joined the Google Enterprise Professional™ program to extend the power of Google across the enterprise. Arcot also announced the immediate availability of its Arcot A-OK On-Demand authentication service to Google Apps™ Premier Edition customers, available at www.arcot.com/google.
The new service provides an extra layer of online access security, ensuring that only authorized users gain access to confidential, proprietary or regulated data. Offering protection against phishing, keyboard logging, man-in-the-middle and other online identity theft threats, Arcot A-OK On-Demand prevents criminals from exploiting the vulnerability of password-based authentication.
“Arcot already has eight years of experience delivering on-demand authentication in the financial services industry, and operates a SAS 70 certified, PCI DSS-compliant data center that protects 18 million online credit card accounts from more than 11,000 financial institutions and 100,000 merchants,” said Ram Varadarajan, CEO Arcot Systems. “Now we are building on that base to make on-demand strong identity authentication available to any enterprise using Google Apps.”
With Arcot A-OK On-Demand, Google Apps customers will have the same anytime, anywhere access as before but with the added protection of multi-factor access security. It works transparently to users, who keep the simplicity of an easy-to-use and familiar username/password interface. The 100 percent software solution provides strong two-factor authentication without requiring users to carry around tokens or cards. It can be implemented in minutes with the standard Google Apps administrator interface, and works on-demand hosted by Arcot without the headaches of installing additional software or hardware.
Google Apps brings simple, powerful communication and collaboration tools to organizations. With Google Apps, users can use tools such as Gmail™ email services, Google Calendar™ shared calendaring, and Google Docs for documents, spreadsheets and presentations on their own domain to work together more effectively. Best of all, it's all hosted by Google, so there's no hardware or software to download, install or maintain.
"Many of our users have been asking for an option for additional login security," said Eran Feigenbaum, senior security manager, Google Enterprise. "Arcot A-OK On-Demand is a great service for those Google Apps customers that are looking for stronger user authentication than just a username and password."
The Google Enterprise Professional program includes developers, consultants and independent software vendors that provide value-added services for Google enterprise products.
